It’s “Shark Week” so, here ya go! A legitimate “Shark Hook”!
Shark hooks aren’t used for “Shark Fishing” where I live on the BC coast. They are used to build a landing rig for use in small boats that are too small to have a proper harpoon on board.
Sometimes your in a small boat like a kayak and you just can’t haul a live fish into your lap safely so the answer is to “Shark Hook” them with a buoy. Once the “Shark Hook” is in place you can reassess your options like going ashore to land the fish.
