Something is rotten in Butterville!
Got caught short, needed some butter, stopped in at the “Cheap” convenience store in town. Paid $7.20 for a pound of butter.
Next trip was one town over, what we call, the “Expensive” grocery store. A $6.00 trip, based on fuel costs.
Tap on card wouldn’t work, had to go to the “Big” town, a $10.00 trip, didn’t get photos, but, butter at “Both of the “Cheap” grocery stores was $5.95
Came home and stopped at the “Expensive” convenience store to grab a few cans of beer and spotted this!
Butter is now a commodity I guess! Ranges $4.95 – $11.39 per pound.
Update: Jan 22, 2023 – I recently found butter for $25.00 per lb. (Organic Meadows, Reserve)
