Looks like it has been a slow start to the August 2020 fishing frenzy in Stuart Channel. Initial reports say an “Overfly” of the area counted only 1842 Prawn & Crab floats in addition to 42 deadheads that were spotted sneaking out of a lumber mill holding pen in Chemainus, BC
In the approximate 70 square kilometer area that is most heavily traveled at this time of the year that only equates to about 26 active traps per square kilometer, down from the usual 45.
