Sugarloaf was an American rock band formed in Denver, Colorado, in the late 1960s (originally under the name Chocolate Hair) by keyboardist/vocalist Jerry Corbetta and guitarist Bob Webber. Best known for blending progressive, psychedelic, and jazz-rock elements, the group scored two major Top 10 hits before disbanding in the late 1970s.

“Green-Eyed Lady,” released in 1970 as the lead single from their self-titled debut album, is a swirling, organ-driven track written by Jerry Corbetta, J.C. Phillips, and David Riordan. Inspired by Corbetta’s green-eyed girlfriend at the time, the song became the band’s signature hit and a staple of classic-rock radio.

- Peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100
- Reached No. 1 on the Canadian RPM chart
- Features an extended album version nearly seven minutes long
- Built around a memorable scale-exercise organ riff by Jerry Corbetta

This hypnotic early-1970s classic remains Sugarloaf’s most enduring and instantly recognizable song.
