You know you’ll need something to boil water & do a bit of cooking on right!

Why not try out a simple dual burner propane camp stove. This one is a Martin, made in Quebec but there are many many makers all offering the same basic features.

It folds up, it’s light, it will run on small 1 pound bottles of propane made for camping and they’re bomb proof most of the time!

Test all your cookware for size and fit on the stove before you go. Not all regular cookware used at home will fit easily. 8 inch diameter is my preferred size. I also like square when it’s possible due to the extra cooking surface available.

A stove capable of putting out at least 8,000 BTU on each burner should be more than adequate for camping purposes. This one will do 10,000 BTU on both burners at the same time. 1 small bottle of propane should give about 1 hour of burn time at full power on both burners. You can do the math on cooking at lower power settings.

While you’re out looking for a stove keep your eye open for a propane lantern as well. Happy camping.
