Amateur radio is a very large area to explore. You can learn about, AM/FM, Antennas, Short, Medium & Long Range, Satellites, UHF, VHF, HF, Ground Planes, Mobile Radio, NVIS & much much more.

Aviation Radio

If you are a pilot or a ground based aviation operation then there a few options available to you & they will all be expensive.

The world of “Aviation Radio” is highly regulated, highly enforced, & very specific in it’s operation. Don’t fuck around with aviation radio gear unless you are licensed to do so and you have a real need.

Don’t Fuck with Aviation Radio gear! You’ll regret it!

CB Radio

CB Radio has been on it’s Deathbed since the late 70’s. The most recent change to the world of CB Radio is the addition of FM. We’ll have to see how that all works out.

The commercial trucking industry never really let go of CB, if you’re in this business then you need one.

If you’re trying to connect 2 different “Fixed Base Operations” then CB Radio may be for you.

FRS Radio

Call ’em whatever you want. They’re basically, short range, handheld, walkie talkies & best of all, they work pretty well. Great for all your outdoor activities.

Basically just “Walkie – Talkies” that work.

GMRS Radio

You could almost call this FRS +. For most people this would be the most useful form of Radio Service to operate. Hands down! This is these clear winner!

GMRS Radios are available in handheld as well as mobile versions. Both are very useful offering great value.

Do not delay! Get some cheap FRS/GMRS Radios to have around.

Marine Radio

If boating is your thing then Marine VHF Radio is the way to go, and best of all, you only need to remember one thing, Channel 16.

When you need “Rescue on the Water”, you need it NOW!

MURS Radio is dead! That’s exactly why you may want to use it!

Using a MURS capable radios eliminates a lot of listeners.
