From what I gather, primer pocket cleaners come in 2 main flavours, Scraper Style & Brush Style. Pictured above is the most basic double ended (for small & large size), scraper style primer pocket cleaner.
Primer pocket cleaners are used for cleaning, NOT UNIFORMING!
Do you really need to clean out the primer pockets, short answer, NO, if you just don’t like it or you just wanna get it done, you can skip this all together. There is no shortage of handloaders that have gone entire lifetimes without cleaning out any primer pockets and had great success.
Some of the tools you may find are just stand alone handheld, and most of them are threaded (8-32) so you can screw them into a handle.
Handles are a scam! They charge an arm and a leg for some of these little gizmos, why someone doesn’t just make hex drive versions I could just pop into a stubby ratcheting screwdriver escapes me. And adapters! Yeah everyone’s got a different take on adapters so you can install them on your case trimmer, your drill press, your cordless drill, it’ll drive you mad.
