The Blasters are an American roots-rock band formed in 1979 in Downey, California, by brothers Phil Alvin (vocals and guitar) and Dave Alvin (guitar), along with bassist John Bazz and drummer Bill Bateman. Their hard-driving “American Music” mixes rockabilly, blues, R&B, and early rock ’n’ roll with raw energy and sharp songwriting.

“I’m Shakin’” is their high-octane cover of a 1960 R&B number written by Rudy Toombs and first recorded by Little Willie John. Released as a single and featured on their 1981 self-titled Slash Records album, the track showcases Phil Alvin’s urgent vocals and the band’s tight, swinging groove.

- Appears as track 3 on the band’s breakthrough 1981 album
- Released as a 7-inch single with “No Other Girl” on the B-side
- Remains one of their most popular and frequently played live songs

The Blasters’ take on “I’m Shakin’” perfectly captures the sweaty excitement of classic American roots music and still gets crowds moving decades later.
