Awww. Brush Buttons, they’re not just for recurves ….. WAIT A MINUTE! They are “Just” for recurves. Because of the very design of the bows you “Do Not” need these for compound bows or longbows. You may need one on a hybrid reflex / deflex bow but that will depend on the limb curves.

If you plan on using a traditional recurve for hunting or stump shooting in the woods or anywhere there is long grass for that matter, YOU NEED BRUSH BUTTONS.

In the above photo you will see that the brush button is in place and when pulled the berries and branches will pull clear of your bow.

In this picture you can easily see that even a blade of grass can slowly get pulled into the infinitely smaller space between the bow limb & string until it gets hung up completely. This is very frustrating when traveling through the woods. Makes a lot of noise too, pulling the bow free, swearing at the plants around you etc.

Chances are if you stop in to your local archery shop and ask they will have no idea what they are or what they would be used for. On the other hand, if you spoke to someone at 3 Rivers Archery, they would know exactly what & why you would want them.
