Camping Fuel

There are many different options for camping fuel, learn how to get your best value from each type and leave more money in your pocket!

You’re basically stuck with whatever your gear needs.

Liquid Fuel / White Gas

If you run older Coleman type equipment then just run regular automotive gas and learn to clean your gear properly! You’ll save a ton of money and learn how to service your stoves and lamps at the same time.

If you also like propane then you can buy a propane adapter for you Coleman camp stove and run it off a bulk 20 lb. propane tank!

Propane

These small bottles offer only one thing, convenience! Other than that, they are horrible. They don’t last very long, they’re very expensive and they litter the landfills.

Buy yourself and adapter and learn how to refill these from a bulk 20 lb. propane bottle, or better still, just get a hose and run directly off the larger bottle.

Butane

Butane is butane! If you run butane powered gear then just look for the best price and buy in bulk if this helps!

Isobutane

These are popular, but they also litter the landfills. Get yourself and adapter and learn how to refill your smallest bottle from the cheapest big ones you can find.

Gel Fuel / Sterno

Gels fuels are available but all you can do is “Look for a Good Deal”. Personally, I would just build a “Twig Stove”, you’ll have more fun and save a ton of money!

Happy camping!
