Yep! It happens, boats go missing, outboard motors, fishing gear, life jackets, you name it, it happens when you least expect it. Police were notified but of course, but they don’t investigate crimes of this nature.
This theft was obviously abandoned “Mid-Stroke” so to speak. Boat was left to drift, ended up on the rocks nearby and had to be rescued later in the day. Check out the pics.
The boat was originally tied up alongside the sailboat seen below.

The original ties downs to cleats on the sailboat were untouched?
All prepped and ready to re-float!
Tide was eventually high enough to pull it out and tie it back up.
