Intended Use

This rimfire rifle was built specifically to be my ultimate “Rabbit Hunter”. It is short, fast, accurate and all these features make it perfect for that purpose.

Effective Range

Maximum range on this rifle in my hands is about 75 Yds. I use this at the range on pop cans between 25 – 50 Yds.

Ruger 10/22 rifles have a huge amount of accessories available to them. They can be built up to almost any configuration.

Safety

This Ruger 10/22 has a traditional “Cross Bolt” safety.

Action

Traditional Ruger 10/22 rifle with a shitload of accessories.

Barrel

The barrel on this rifle is an 8″ custom aftermarket barrel made by Dlask Arms. in Canada. They make a variety of custom 10/22 barrels.

Muzzle

The muzzle on this rifle is equipped with a Dlask Arms brand “Linear Compensator”, as you can see in the photos, the front sight is mounted on the compensator.

Trigger

This is fitted with a standard Ruger factory trigger group.

Stock

The stock used in this build is a Choate Machine & Tool Co. aftermarket stock. I had to saw the front of the stock off to make it the correct length.

Buttplate

Factory Equipped with Rubber molded non-slip buttpad. It nice but not necessary.

Sights

These sights were made by “Nodak Spud” in the USA. They are top quality. The rear sight and the optics mounting rail are 1 piece.

Optics

I have a cheap, Red Dot Sight installed on this rifle and it works very well.

Magazines

Standard factory Ruger brand 10 shot mags as well as a “Triple K” model 36 magazine pouch.

Accessories

Utility Pouch

I’d really like to have a buttstock pouch on this rifle but the narrow stock design does not make it that easy.

Sling

A single point sling of some type is a great accessory on this rifle for use in the field.

Light

I purchased a 45 degree offset rail in order to mount the light & laser.

Bipod

This rifle is not really designed for use with a bipod.

Flash Hider

This rifle has a threaded muzzle and as a result it could be fitted with a variety of muzzle mounted accessories but in this case it has a Dlask, Linear Compensator installed.

Optics

As seen above. This rifle is fitted for “Fun”! The primary optic is a Red Dot sight. I also have a “Quick Detachable” 45 degree angled rail with a Laser & Flashlight installed.

Ammunition Handling

Ammo is best carried in a belt mounted pouch or pocket. I use standard Ruger brand 10 shot capacity magazines but in some locations you may have access to extended capacity magazines.

What would I Change?

This was custom built by me to these actual specs. There really is nothing to change.

Ammunition

Standard .22 LR

Shooting Results

Factory Ammunition

I have tested this with a variety of factory ammunition and it all seemed to work very well. I have not done any accuracy testing on this rifle since all I use it for currently is “Pop Can Hunting” at the range.

What’s Next?

More pop can shooting at the range of course.
