Intended Use

I bought this just because it was so fucking cool! Now that I have it I have designated this as a “Primary Survival Gun”. When combined with a good selection of “Shotgun Gauge Adapters” I can shoot a huge variety of ammo.

Effective Range

With birdshot I say about 40 yds. is maximum and even then that might be stretching it. Buckshot should reach out to 60 yds. I hope. I’m hoping that I can use Slugs effectively out to 75 yds. but we’ll see how that works out after a bit of testing.

Safety

There is NO manual safety on this shotgun. It is hammer fired so you must manually cock the hammer before firing. It can be “Cracked Open” while loaded so it can be made safe that way as well.

Action

Traditional break action, single shot, hammer fired, single shot shotgun.

The trigger guard serves “Double Duty” and also acts as the “Action Release”.

Trigger

This shotgun has a simple, single stage, Non-Adjustable trigger.

Stock

Factory supplied with traditional, 2 piece, wooden stock.

Buttplate

Factory Equipped with a nice soft, slip resistant, recoil absorbing rubber buttpad. It is really a good idea to have this because the shotgun is so light that recoil under some circumstances with some loads can be “Brutal”.

Sights

This shotgun has a traditional front bead sight along with a grooved receiver rear sight.

Optics

I have a Vortex, Red Dot Sight installed on this for general use. This shotgun was not equipped to have optics installed so I had to take it to a gunsmith and have a Picatinny Rail installed. It was not cheap, but worth every penny.

Choke Tubes

This shotgun came factory equipped with a full set (5) choke tubes. They are threaded for the Benelli/Mobil Type.

This “Rifled Slug Choke” was purchased as an accessory for possible use on big game.

Accessories

Utility Pouch

Of course I have a buttstock mounted utility pouch on this shotgun. It’s a great place to store ammo, tools, hunting lic. etc.

Sling

A simple sling of some type is an “Absolute Necessity” on a rifle in the field. I have 2 slings for this shotgun. The red one is a traditional sling & the black one is a single point sling which is clipped to the paracord around the stock when in use.

Light

I purchased a “Barrel Mount” picatinny rail and now I can use the light of my choice.

Optics

As seen above. This shotgun came factory equipped with bead sight only so I had a gunsmith install a Picatinny Rail so I could install the optics of my choice.

Ammunition Carrying

Shotgun ammo is big, heavy & bulky. You need away of carrying it around and your pockets won’t normally do.

What would I Change?

Not much! This shotgun has proven to a great value! It would have been nice if it had a factory installed Picatinny Rail & a way of mounting one on the forend but that’s about it.

Ammunition

Standard 12 Gauge Shotgun Shells up to 3″ and anything else that you may be able to chamber with the use of adapters.

Shooting Results

Factory Ammunition

I have tested this shotgun with light practice factory loadings. It performed as expected.

Buckshot Hobo Handloads

I have not tested any of these types of loads yet.

Round Ball Hobo Handloads

I have not tested any of these types of loads yet.

Slug Hobo Handloads

I have not tested any of these types of loads yet.

What’s Next?

This shotgun has proven to be very useful to me. I use it for quite a bit of my “Sub-Caliber Adapter” testing as well as testing the “Little Skeeters”, “Sub-Gauge Adapters”.

I’ll be testing some Buckshot, Slug & Round Ball loads soon as well.
