Intended Use
This shotgun formed part of a collection of SBS shotguns that I had but I have since traded off the 12 ga., 28 ga., and the .410. I have other shorty shotguns so this gun does not really fulfill any purpose currently.
Effective Range
Maximum effective range for this shotgun should be about 35 Yds. with birdshot, and maybe it could reach out to 50 Yds. with buckshot. Slugs may be usable to about 75 Yds.

Variations of this shotgun have been made in 12, 20, 28 & .410. They are usually marked as “Hiker” models but I have also seen them marked with “Backpacker”. The mechanism for opening the shotgun may also have small differences.
Action

Traditional break action, single shot shotgun.

The entire trigger guard is pulled rearward to unlock the action allowing it to open.
Controls
You can see the “Cross Bolt” safety located just above and behind the trigger.

The hammer on this shotgun must be manually cocked in order to fire it.
Stock

From the factory this shotgun has a standard 2 piece wooden stock set. The gun does disassemble easily but you do need a screwdriver to remove the forend.
Buttplate

The buttplate on this shotgun is a nice thick recoil absorbing buttpad. Even though it is only a 20 gauge, this is a welcome accessory.
Sights

The sights on this shotgun are just a front bead sight, no rear sight or groove etc.

Optics
This shotgun is not fitted for installation of optics, it could be done but is quite expensive and of little use on this particular gun.
Chokes
This shotgun has NO interchangeable chokes, it comes from the factory with a fixed full choke.
Accessories
There are almost no accessories made for this shotgun. Aside from utility pouch, sling and light, there really is nothing for this shotgun.
Utility Pouch

This is an example of a utility pouch that I have installed on a different gun. One of these could be added to this shotgun with no hassle at all.

Sling
This shotgun is not equipped with sling swivels from the factory but they are easy to install and I highly recommend the installation on almost all guns.
Light
This is not designed to have a light installed but a small flashlight held on by duct tape or elastics can be done easily.
Ammunition Handling
You’ll need some way to carry your shotgun ammo. Fill your pockets!
What would I Change?
This shotgun needs sling swivel studs installed along with a sling. A buttstock mounted accessory pouch would be nice as well.
Ammunition
Factory
Factory ammo for this shotgun just Standard 20 Gauge, up to 3″
Handloaded
I have not handloaded any ammo for this shotgun yet.

What’s Next?
I’ll be trading or selling this shotgun and if I don’t I’ll consider doing some testing.
